Market Procurement Activity Increases, SHFE Lead Rises First Then Falls in the Afternoon [Lead Futures Brief Review]

SMM September 17:

The most-traded SHFE lead 2510 contract opened at 17,080 yuan/mt and fluctuated around the daily average after opening. Market procurement activity increased significantly today, with scarce supply of secondary refined lead in circulation. Most smelters had no spot orders available for sale, while some held back goods anticipating price increases. Lead prices rose first and then fell in the afternoon, reaching a high of 17,135 yuan/mt and a low of 17,035 yuan/mt, finally closing at 17,100 yuan/mt, up 0.26%, with open interest at 42,195 lots.
